The UCC Admiral Homestead Community Land Trust represents a groundbreaking partnership between Admiral Church and Homestead CLT, transforming a century of neighborhood service into a new model for affordable homeownership in West Seattle. This innovative development creates 21 residential units—13 affordable townhomes in 4 groupings plus 8 market-rate units in 2 stories above a ground-level church facility—made possible by Admiral Church's generous land donation that enables the majority of homes to be affordable to households earning less than 80% of area median income. With overwhelming community support—over 80% of 200+ neighborhood respondents endorsed the project—this development demonstrates how faith communities can advance social and racial justice by opening historically exclusive neighborhoods to families previously excluded from homeownership.
