YWCA Family Village at Issaquah
Issaquah Highlands, WA
Serving the Community: The YWCA Family Village at Issaquah is a transit-oriented development that provides 146 units of affordable low-income housing units in 3 buildings surrounding a community building and play areas. Includes a childcare center, YWCA regional offices, employment services, tutoring and community rooms for resident use and community rental space.
Finding Solutions: One key challenge for the design team was to successfully integrate the complex needs of a large multi-stakeholder team into the project design. Project Manager Poppy Handy facilitated multiple design workshops to collect and implement stakeholder ideas. This established a clear framework and effective lines of communication between all participating groups throughout the entire project leading to a successfully integrated project that serves the Issaquah Highlands community and surrounding areas.
